Augmented reality (AR) is one of the biggest and fastest growing technology trends at the moment. Why is this so? It’s because through the combination of audio, text, video and virtual enhancements of real-life objects, we get experiences like never before.
Apart from games, AR is used in several apps like in filters on the social media app Snapchat. Some more practical uses of the technology include the use of AR in sports such as football and tennis where analysts can draw lines on the pitch to better adjudicate official decisions. Commercial and military pilots are also trained using flight simulators, which use AR to test the pilot’s abilities at various altitudes and in other flying conditions.
