Playing With Friends On Oculus Quest Just Became A Whole Lot Easier

Link up with seven friends and jump into select games together.

The Oculus Quest is a fantastic VR headset, but for a piece of hardware built by the most dominant social media company in the world, it’s social capabilities have been surprisingly lacking.

This weeks update looks to solve that issue, introducing a handful of new features designed specifically to enhance your social experience. Using the new Public Parties feature, you can now host group voice calls with up to seven other friends, letting you to shoot the breeze while slinging disks in Echo Arena or comfort a friend as they scream their way through Five Nights at Freddy’s: Help Wanted.

Looking to add some fresh faces to the crew? Keep your party public and let strangers role right on into your party.

For those looking to jump into their favorite games together, Oculus’ new Travel Together feature allows players in the same party to launch into select game directly as a group, removing the need for any game invites or code-sharing.

Oculus has already partnered with a number of major developers responsible for several fan favorites, including Arizona Sunshine, Cloudlands 2, Elven Assassin, Eleven Table Tennis, Epic Roller Coasters, Echo VR, Ironlights, Multiverse, Pro Putt by Topgolf, Racket: Nx, Synth Riders, and Spaceteam VR.

Oculus is also simplifying its friend finding process, making it easier to locate friends on Facebook with an Oculus Quest headset.
